This was an interesting and exciting project to work on for Ambulance Victoria in Dandenong South. As part of the Victorian government's new strategy, we worked with other architects to bring their space to life and optimise it to ensure that all ambulance workers are able to get to any location within 15 minutes of an emergency.

Exciting Government Project

Ambulance Victoria had been looking around the state for more localised hubs rather than central distribution centres to house their workers. Their office warehouse turned into an ambulance centre and part of the project was to provide sufficient car parks for all the workers.

Altering Offices to Bedrooms

Ambulance workers work 24/7, therefore they need bedrooms, kitchen facilities, car parks and retreat areas in their new space. We converted the 1st floor into a sleeping courter and the office area into a bedroom. This was the first time we had converted a warehouse/office space into a set of bedrooms which was an exciting challenge and experience for us to take on. Overall there were a few different areas that needed to be altered to become functional for the purpose they needed to for.

Optimising The Space

Ambulance workers are in and out of the building fairly quickly, so we needed to optimise the space to allow them to enter and exit efficiently and effectively every time they were called out to a job.

A Comfortable and Relaxing Space

The downstairs area was created into a breakout space, kitchen, and lounge like you’d see in your house. It was a place for them to relax and unwind as they wait for their next job, we wanted them to be comfortable and feel at home when they retreated to this area of their building.

It’s all about the process!

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial fitout solution for your requirements and budget.

Proposal

We prepare proposals based on the brief from the initial meeting where we go through and plan the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

All costs are agreed upon during this stage and the outline of the project and timelines are discussed. We organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.

Construction

We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the fitout and how it is coming together.

At completion, we conduct a handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
