Live Nation
Live Nation approached the Canopy Fitouts team to reinvigorate their work place and solved some problems along the way.
Starting with the end in mind
CFO for Live Nation Australia and New Zealand, Alex Klos had a number of clear goals in mind. The initial review suggested a full relocation was needed but wasn’t the preferred choice. Alex told us he needed, ‘15% more capacity and to reduce the physical barriers between the teams now that they had splayed out onto two separate floors’.
Being the Australian arm of the world’s largest live entertainment company means an office needs to evoke a certain style. Alex told us the space needed to be light and bright but it also needed a sense of understated cool without tripping into industrial trends that date too quickly.
Live Nation also needed the project closed off before the bulk of the team was back on deck after the Christmas break.
Solving the Silos
Sometimes we meet clients who have walls and hallways separating their teams. In the case of Live Nation it was a full floor and two secure doorways. To speak to a colleague in another team face to face sometimes meant leaving a floor, heading out to a shared lobby, upstairs then back through a security door and into the second floor.
Canopy Fitouts laid out the new floorplan so that a stairwell could be enclosed inside the two tenancies all while allowing for more workspace for future growth.
Alex says, ‘we’ve removed the physical elements that contributed to departmental silos. The whole business is more together now and communication is much more free flowing. We’re still spread over two floors but a number of simple changes and creation of common areas helped achieve a new outlook for the whole team.’
