Honouring a Legacy Club With a Contemporary Upgrade

For our newest fitout, we collaborated with a local racing club for a trendy, modern bar upgrade.

Over the years, the club had grown and membership greatly expanded. Changes were necessary to accompany their larger member base, specifically the bar and dining area. Yet the spirit and heritage of the venue couldn’t be lost in the process. With our vast experience creating fitouts that honour and elevate historic spaces, we were the ideal partner for this bar fitout project.

A Design Inspired by Racing

When tasked with designing this fitout, our objective was to create a luxurious space that honours the club's legacy while delivering a modern, immersive experience for patrons.

We started with the flooring. Using bespoke design, the carpet design subtly echoes the shape of a horseshoe, giving the space a racing motif that feels sophisticated rather than overt.

This carpeting moves the eye to the focal point of the entire fitout: the bar. Tying the knot on the horseshoe-inspired design, the bar also curves in a similar shape, enhancing the thematic cohesion of the entire space.

Giving New Life to Retired Stables

Seeking to infuse the fitout with as much history as possible, retired horse stables were given new life in this bar fitout. We used the repurposed timber from the stables as wainscoting, stained in a sleek black finish for wall contrast.

To add that final elevating touch, we went with brass accents. Throughout the bar—from lighting to foot rail—are brass elements working to brighten up this luxurious space.

Creating a Sophisticated Bar Fitout

The final build blends luxurious touches with a nod to the club’s storied history, creating an atmosphere of elegance and exclusivity. Every detail, from the warm brass tones to the thoughtfully repurposed materials, has been chosen to enhance the patron experience while paying homage to the traditions of horse racing.
