Long-standing friend and client, SBA law, recently entrusted Canopy Fitouts with designing and building 1500 square meters of office space in the heart of the CBD. We were to create an office fitout that could manage the tonal shift from city scape to office space in the modern working era. Read on to see how.

Where the external surrounds represents the hustle and bustle of the cityscape, our design intent sought offer reprieve from this context. The office fitout needed to feel light, personal, and comfortable. Both light and dark timbers and an abundance of greenery were utilised throughout the fitout to connect users to the natural environment. Since we were working with an entire floor, we were fortunate to have access to uninterrupted natural light when space-planning the office space – which allowed us to retain light throughout each working area and foster the intended organic feel.

There was a strong push for this office space to be a place where staff could come together and collaborate. We positioned the open plan working areas central to the private office rooms. We hoped to encourage movement between these spaces by visually highlighting the areas with transitional carpet and custom overhead lighting. In the kitchen and breakout area, we designed an extended stone island kitchen bench to encourage staff to come together during their break time.

First impressions are a must when building and designing office fitouts. At SBA Law, the reception and client meeting rooms are the first spaces they see when entering. Visitors are greeted with a stone reception desk, framed by a pearlescent feature pendant light. To generate further visual interest, reeded glass was utilised in meeting rooms – an impactful backdrop which also offers privacy during client meetings.

It’s all about the process!

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial fitout solution for your requirements and budget.

Proposal

We prepare proposals based on the brief from the initial meeting where we go through and plan the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

All costs are agreed upon during this stage and the outline of the project and timelines are discussed. We organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.

Construction

We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the fitout and how it is coming together.

At completion, we conduct a handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
