@Workspaces pair professionals with private workspaces they love, so partnering with Canopy was a perfect match, The team at Canopy moved into this project with a strong accommodation strategy and premier design as the key measure for success.

Turning unique ideas into a reality

Maximising lettable areas within this state of the art city location was a key priority for the Canopy team. The final result needed to be a 'modern corporate' fitout to inspire creativity in the professionals who would occupy the space. The design team focused on increasing light through the floor plan and to maintain the fresh, upbeat look and feel. Subtle tones are balanced with a pop of colour, a balance between the overwhelming and the quiet. With a project of this scale, Canopy worked closely with @workspaces to ensure there was complete understanding of the build along the way.

Increasing Accessability

Reducing passages and dead areas also became of high importance throughout the project as these would act as dead space for clients and limit accommodation potential. To achieve this, Canopy worked closely with both the building surveyor and consulting engineers to ensure hallways were kept to a minimum and doorways and access areas were compliant while maximising natural light and space. The strategy was to create as many individual offices as possible to maximise leasable rooms for @Workspaces without impeding disability access, increasing accessibility and making the space usable by any one at any time.

As the face of the organisation, the reception area needed to be a key feature, unique to the rest of the building, but still integrated within the overall design. Working within one of the most prestigious buildings comes with a level of expectation which Canopy were more than prepared to meet. The reception needed to be inviting and innovative, delivering on client comfort and quality within the first few moments of entry.

A welcome reception

Creating an inviting environment was the strategy behind the design of the reception area. Where the Canopy team really excelled was through the inspirational 'wine wall' which cleverly utilised the natural light and blended the office space with front of house. Karl Simity, Director of Canopy, spoke to this as "a way to create an open feeling reception with a sense of grandeur for this prestigious building and tenant. It really delivers on creating that sense of place and presence for the @workspaces tenancy, providing a talking point and a place for congregation for a cheeky Friday wine".

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial fitout solution for your requirements and budget.

Proposal

We prepare proposals based on the brief from the initial meeting where we go through and plan the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

All costs are agreed upon during this stage and the outline of the project and timelines are discussed. We organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.

Construction

We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the fitout and how it is coming together.

At completion, we conduct a handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
