Flying Pigs

Flying Pigs, a performance digital marketing agency, engaged us to create a purpose-built office space to support their recent team expansion. We were delighted to be chosen to design and build an office fitout that not only complements the pre-existing aesthetic of the tenancy, but also embodies the ethos of this trailblazing agency. Our goal was to produce a work environment that reflects the contemporary nature of the business, while still maintaining excellent project management during a busy time of year, read on to see how. 

When considering the design for this office fitout, we hoped to achieve a contemporary look that seamlessly integrates with the pre-existing industrial features of the tenancy. We accomplished this by incorporating white, black, and navy tones, as well as polished concrete throughout the space to complement the industrial aesthetic. To balance the dark and hard elements, we introduced timber elements and warm lighting, adding a sense of warmth to the office fitout. Additionally, navy and blue carpet tiles were strategically placed to draw attention to certain areas and add visual interest for visitors to the office.

Designing office fitouts in narrow spaces presents a significant challenge in preserving natural light flow. At Flying Pigs, our goal was to maximise the stunning views and abundant natural light at both ends of the tenancy. We achieved this by creating two working areas on opposite sides of the tenancy, enabling staff to work in the brighter areas of the office space. To counterbalance the low lighting in the central meeting areas, we incorporated pops of colour and feature lighting to enhance the visual interest and ambiance of the space . Additionally, we incorporated curved walls and joinery throughout the office fitout to promote light flow and create sense of continuity, thus mitigating the challenges posed by the limited lighting.

As the project ran through the Christmas period, meticulous planning was essential for the supply of materials and the contracting of trades, considering the limited resources available during this time. Despite the challenges faced in sourcing and coordinating trades, we maintained the office fitout build standard by closely monitoring quality control and fostering strong relationships with a new set of contractors. To ensure timely delivery, we remained conscious of longer supplier lead times and prepared alternative sourcing options well in advance. Our proactive approach and attention to detail allowed us to overcome the hurdles posed by the festive season and deliver a successful project.
